What's new with you

So, its been almost a month since we moved and we still haven't finished unpacking. We've been going slowly through each room and putting our things away while packing up the stuff from my parents (to sell, donate or give to family or for my Dad for his apartment)
I have started crocheting again a little bit, my Aunt is visiting from California and asked me to make some Minecraft toys for her granddaughters. I also got some patterns online one for a tea set pattern from Maggie Weldon and a new pattern book called Crochet A Zoo with the cutest mini animals I've ever seen. I also made a couple of minions from Despicable Me after I saw the ads for the new movie (my Dad, husband and kids are now fighting over who gets their own minion army)

The facts of life

We have finished moving into my childhood home. Unfortunately, my Mom passed away the day we started moving in to help take care of her. My Dad couldn't stand to stay in the house and moved into an apartment that same day.The first 2 days we got my Dad set up in his new apartment with the bare essentials then we frantically packed up the rest of our house in just 2 days and got it all here. . We took Thursday off from everything to have my Mom's funeral and grieve.  We are now slowly unpacking our things as we pack up things for my Dad at his new place and figure out what to do with the 34 years worth of stuff that has accumulated in this house. Its very slow going so far but we are getting it done.
During this time, however, I am not crocheting or crafting.  My Mom taught me how to crochet and to craft and it hurts too much to make anything right now. Not to mention, there is just too much to do to get our house livable. I hope once school is out and the pain isn't so fresh, I can get back to making things again.

Assembly
Starting with the head, sew the ears and eyes on first, then the beret (I did the mouth and nostrils too, its easier before attaching the head to the body)
Sew head to bady next, then you can place the arms and legs in the correct places,  sew the tail to the back and feet on the legs
Use black to make the fingers and toes
Cut out a little paw from the paint colored felt and sew it to the back
I sewed the tail to the hand, but you can leave it loose if you want
