Owl Hats

I've never actually used a pattern for these but they are fairly simple to do
Owl hat

Main hat
make a ch long enough to go around whatever head you are making for and join to a circle.
Sc around as many row to get the hat long enough to be just at the top of the person's ears.
Flatten hat and sc through both thicknesses
for ear flaps go back to the first row and figure out where the ears are, then just sc 12 and then an even row, then dec on the 1st 2sc and last 2 sc, then an even row and keep doing it until there are only 4 sc. F/O

you can make these bigger by adding rows or make them the same size I did, You can add a third color if you want as eyebrows just do a half circle of the color as Rnd 6
Start with black
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic circle
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around, change to your eye color in last sc
Rnd 3: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc around
Rnd 4: sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc around, change to white
Rnd 5: sc in each sc around

Beak in orange
ch 13
Row 1: starting in secind ch from hook sc in each sc across (12)
Row 2: sc in each sc across
Row 3: dec over first 2 sc, sc in next 8sc, dec over last 2 sc (10)
Row 4: sc in each sc across
Rows 5 - 8: dec over first 2 sc, sc until last 2, dec over last 2 sc
(Row 8 will have 2)
The chin ties are just chains
