Wailmer with pattern

Wailmer

Materials
Medium blue grey, cream, small amounts of white, black and tan yarn
H hook
fiber fill
needle and thread



Body
start with medium blue grey
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (12)
Rnd 3: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc around (18)
Rnd 4: sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc around (24)
Rnd 5: sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc around (30)
Rnd 6: sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc around (36)
Rnd 7: sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc around (42)
Rnd 8: sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc around (48)
Rnd 9: sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc around (54)
Rnd 10 - 14: sc in each sc around, change to cream in last stitch (54)
Rnd 15 - 17: sc in each sc around (54)
Rnd 18: sc in next 7 sc, dec over next 2 sc around (48)
Rnd 19: sc in next 6 sc, dec over next 2 sc around (42)
Rnd 20: sc in next 5 sc, dec over next 2 sc around (36)
Rnd 21: sc in next 4 sc, dec over next 2 sc around (30)
Begin stuffing at this point, if you haven't already, and continue stuffing as you progress.
Rnd 22: sc in next 3 sc, dec over next 2 sc around (24)
Rnd 23: sc in next 2 sc, dec over next 2 sc around (18)
Rnd 24: sc in next sc, dec over next 2 sc around (12)
Rnd 25: dec in next 2 sc around (6)
F/O leaving a long tail. Add any stuffing needed to finish out the shape, weave the tail through the last round and pull to close. Weave in ends.

Teeth in white
ch 19, sl in second ch from hook, *sl in next ch,  sc in next 2 sc, hdc in next 2 sc, dc in next 2 sc, tc in next sc, dc in next 2 sc, hdc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc, sl in last 2 sc,* do not turn, working the free loops of the other side of the beginning chain sl in next sc, repeat from * to *
F/O

Fins in medium blue grey (make 4)
Row 1: ch 7, sc in second ch from hook and in each across, turn (6)
Row 2: sc in each sc across, turn (6)
Row 3: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, turn (8)
Row 4: sc in each sc across, turn (8)
Row 5:  2 sc in next sc, sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, turn (10)
Row 6: sc in each sc across, turn (10)
Row 7: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc, turn (12)
Row 8: sc in each sc across, do not turn (12)
Going down the side, sc in end of each row. 2 sc in corner, sc in loop of beginning ch, 2 sc in corner, sc in end of each row back up the other side to the beginning of row 9. (the side facing you at this point is the 'right' side of the piece)
Sc in first sc of Row 8, Ch 1, in next sc work the following: DC, TR, DC. Ch 1, sc in next 2 sc. Ch 1 in next sc work DC, TR, DC. Ch 1, sc in next 2 sc. Ch 1, in next sc work DC, TR, DC. Ch 1, sc in next 2 sc, in next sc work DC, TR, DC. sc in last sc. F/O
sew 2 together for each fin.

Assembly
attach teeth to body between blue grey and cream rows
attach fins to side where blue grey meets cream
eyes can be felt, yarn or small buttons(your choice)
using tan yarn straight stitch lines on belly portion.
